Fortunately, US deaths from drug overdose have decreased, but deaths caused by the COVID-19 vaccine, unfortunately, show an increasing trend. In 2022, the COVID-19 vaccine took 24.5% more lives than drug overdose, and 40.0% more lives in 2023.
The new normal
I recently published a post showing that the COVID-19 vaccine caused over 138,000 US deaths in 2022, and over 158,000 in 2023. Beyond showing an increase in deaths, the numbers further reveal an increasing trend. That is, 8.95% more people died from the vaccine in 2023 than in 2022, and the increase is markedly higher when considering that 2023 had fewer total deaths than 2022.
What may appear to counter the trend is not only a decrease in total deaths in 2023 compared to 2022, but also lower all-cause excess mortality. However, after years of excess mortality, the pendulum now swings back, but in the absence of the vaccine, the excess mortality would have been markedly lower. Specifically, in the absence of the COVID-19 vaccine, the excess mortality would have decreased from 8.9% in 2022 to 1.6% in 2023, while the numbers were 13.7% and 6.8% for counties with average uptake, which is representative for the US as a whole (note that excess mortality can vary across studies due to different methodologies, but consistency within a study largely ensures valid trend estimates). In other words, the new normal is higher US all-cause mortality because of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the new normal shows an increasing trend compared to what it would have been in the absence of the vaccine.
US drug overdose deaths
CDC data show 111,029 drug overdose deaths in the US during 2022, while the 2023 numbers were 107,543. Despite a 3.1% decrease, the numbers are still high, but what is more disturbing is that the COVID-19 vaccine in 2022 took 24.5% more lives than drug overdose, and 40.0% more lives in 2023.
I appreciate all efforts to prevent drug overdose deaths in the US and elsewhere, but who takes responsibility for deaths caused by the COVID-19 vaccine?
Veldig spennende å følge deg Jarle. Jeg er imponert💪
